Youth Multipurpose Organization (YMO) is a youth-led, community-driven nonprofit organization working to create lasting change across South Sudan by empowering young people, women, and vulnerable communities through education, entrepreneurship, peacebuilding, climate action, and sustainable development.
Youth Multipurpose Organization was founded by passionate young leaders in Wau, South Sudan.We exist to unlock the potential of youth and women while strengthening peaceful and resilient communities.
Our work connects education, economic empowerment, environmental conservation, and community participation to help people build sustainable livelihoods and become leaders of positive social change.
Today, YMO works alongside government institutions, civil society organizations, community leaders, and development partners to deliver locally driven solutions that improve lives.

Our Story
Every community has untapped potential.
Youth Multipurpose Organization was established by a group of determined young people who believed that lasting development begins with local leadership.
In many communities across South Sudan, young people face unemployment, limited educational opportunities, poverty, and social exclusion. Women often struggle to participate in decision-making while communities continue to experience conflict and environmental challenges.
Rather than waiting for change, YMO chose to become the change.
Since its official registration, the organization has become a trusted platform that mobilizes youth, empowers women, strengthens livelihoods, promotes peace, and creates opportunities for sustainable development.
Today, our work continues to grow as we build stronger communities through innovation, partnership, and local ownership.
